more info regarding lost and found classmates

I have a complete list of classmates in a spreadsheet. We have found many more and we are close to contacting the others. If you would like a copy of the spreadsheet to help located people, please email me. We have a large contingent of classmates on our Facebook group page - Bosse High School Class of 1967 - please take a look and see who's there.
Glen Bowling I see you are follower of this blog - please contact us - we have not been able to locate any info for you and your are rumored to be deceased!
I will try to update this website's list of lost classmates soon - the spreadsheet includes everyone - found and lost.

The Scoop on the Reunion

OK - this is it! Beginning Friday, Sept. 14th 2012 we have a block of seats at the Bosse v Memorial football game; "Meet & Greet" cocktail reception at RiRa's downtown Evansville; Saturday, Sept. 15th a tour of Bosse; a golf scramble (not nailed down yet); a tour of The Victory; meet early for class pictures, both grade school and hs homeroom; reunion dinner at The Victory, downtown Evansville. We are in the process of inviting several teachers to attend the dinner. We will try to keep the combined costs around $50 and if we have a good response to fund raisiers that we have planned we will use those funds to defer the costs of the dinner and the reception. If anyone has anything they would like to donate for a raffle or an auction or if you would like to "donate" to the cause please contact us (we have an email account which I will post later); this group page and a website. Our spreadsheet is getting filled everyday with new classmates being contacted. We're excited and we hope this will be the best attended reunion ever!
If you have any ideas or want to work on something - we plan a directory both printed and on a cd - mailings to those we can't locate by phone.
It should be a fun weekend!

Lost Audio files and updates

This morning I received a telephone call from Jerry Birge a retired TV commentator from Evansville. He said he had some audio files on reel to reel that were of school children being interviewed. As it turns out, some of our classmates were interviewed. Donna Davidson, John Bishop and Mike Garrison just to name a few. He said he thought there were several schools involved. He offered to transfer them to a useable computer file if we were interested. I told him we were and that someone would contact him. I have now asked several people in Evansville if they would follow up with him as he now lives in Owensboro. It might be fun for the reunion?

I am getting proposals from at least three venues and should have the info in the next few weeks so we can decide where to have our reunion.

I have updated the "Lost Classmate file". If you are a Facebook user and member of our group, please take a look at it and if you know someone on the list or think you can find them, please do. Just forward the info to me in an email to keep it secure. It will also help with the directory as we begin compiling it. In the next few weeks I will try to put the list on the blog so it will be available to more people.

Time to get moving on the planning of our 45th Reunion -

Hi everyone. I just got back from EVV and the Reitz '67 44th pre-reunion party (which 180+ attended). Their committee was able to contact all but 6 of their classmates! That's pretty impressive. There is a lot of enthusiasm for the reunion.

To make a long story short, if we are going to have a reunion we need to reserve a place (most places want 1 yr advance reservations). Is there an existing "reunion committee" who might have some funds collected at past reunions? Or is already planning something?  Even though I live out of town I am willing to serve on the committee, with the internet you can handle most anything. Most everyone in this group has voiced positive feedback about having one, now it's time to moving....
We have this group on FB and a blog on google where classmates can comment.

http://bossehighschoolclassof1967.blogspot.com/
you just have to sign in on google

I'm looking forward to hearing lots of enthusiastic comments and great ideas like places to meet - Echo Valley? or  .....  anyone?

Trip to Evansville

I am headed to Evansville for a few days in April. My husband's class, Reitz '67, is having a pre-reunion get together to begin planning their 45th reunion. A committee of three lead by an ambitious classmate has located all of their classmates (450 approx.) but 6! They have received reservations for 165 people for the pre-reunion dinner! It is to be held at the Cottonwood Center in Evansville and the cost is only $12 per person! - this was originally planned to be a picnic at Howell Park but attendance was so great they needed to find another venue. I am impressed by the perseverance of this committee.

I'll let you know of any great ideas I can glean from the Reitz group. If we are going to have a reunion, probably the sooner we start planning, the better?

I know there are classmates out there that you are in contact with who are not on this blog or our FB page. Maybe if you run into to someone or talk with them, let them know about our pages and encourage to join us. I guess the more feedback we get the better we will be able to decide whether to get gung ho or not.

Take care, Nancy
